Why should I register on Coaching Lancashire?


Registering on Coaching Lancashire will enable you at access a 'one stop shop' for information on coaching, right across the North West.

It will enable you to:

  • Ensure that you are in the 'coaching loop' in Lancashire
  • Access information about coaching bursaries and grants that are available
  • Increase your links into your CSP/NGB/local authority
  • Help us map the current coaching being done in Lancashire
  • Access information about coaching opportunities in the North West
  • To help us establish training needs for coaches in the County
What will happen to the information that I put on the system?


The generic information that you put on the system (e.g. training needs, coaching hours you do, level of qualifications that you hold) will be used to build of picture of the number of qualified and active coaches working in Lancashire, and in the North West.

Any training needs that you highlight will collated by Lancashire Sport and used to inform future training programmes offered in the county and the North West. Sports specific needs (e.g. Basketball Level 1) will also be fed through to the relevant national governing bodies of sport, to assist them to build a picture of their 'workforce needs' in the county/NW.

If you are in receipt of a coaching bursary or grant scheme, you will be asked to register on Coaching Lancashire as part of the support criteria. The system will then be a tool to assist you to keep the required information for the scheme readily accessible and up to date.

The system will also help you to log coaching hours, development courses that you have attended and will be an avenue where the scheme administration can keep you up to date, with things like newsletters; dates of courses and information on 'mentoring opportunities'

What are the benefits of registering?


Registering on the system will enable you to:

  • Develop your coaching CV, where you can log coaching hours, placements and qualifications
  • Access information on a range of topics including updates on county and regional bursary schemes which may provide support in developing yourself or your club
  • Find out about any coach education and development opportunities running in your local area
  • Link to job opportunities in Lancashire and the NW
  • Be signposted to training needs
Who has access to my personal details


Access to your personal details will be restricted to Coaching Lancashire staff and the system administrators only.

Personal details will not be shared with any other organisation without your consent.

Generic information (e.g. types of people being coached, coaching hours delivered, level of qualifications held) will be collated through the system and may be shared with key partners such as:

  • Local authorities
  • Sport England
  • National governing bodies of sport

As mentioned above, this information is very useful in building up a picture of the current coaching workforce that we have in the NW and help organisations responsible with the development of coaching attract funding to develop more coaching development and deployment opportunities across the region.

Why should my organisation register on Coaching Lancashire?


Registering on Coaching Lancashire will enable you at access a 'one stop shop' for information on coaching, right across the North West.

It will enable you to your organisation to:

  • To help to map the needs of organisations employing coaches in the region
  • To provide accurate information about the skills required of coaches by employers which will assist us in accessing funding at regional and national levels to support up-skilling coaches
What will happen to the information that I put on the system?


Job Adverts/opportunities placed on the system will be available for all registered coaches across the four county sports partnerships using this data management system in the North West. For a list of those County Sports Partnerships, please go to the 'home tab'

Other information that you register on the system (e.g. coaches you have, number of hours they coach, levels at which they coach, participants catered for) will be used to build a picture of the current workforce, and also help the North West Region to identify coaching workforce strengths and weaknesses. The information that you supply will be used where necessary to support any applications made on a local, county or regional level to bring extra revenue into the North West to further develop and support the coaching workforce.

If the coaches that you employ/deploy register their details and their training needs this information will be fed into county and regional coach education programmes run by county sports partnerships and national governing bodies of sport. This information will be used by relevant partners to plan future sports specific and generic coach education and development opportunities.

What are the benefits for my organisation to be registered on the system?


As a organisation using Coaching Lancashire your organisation will:

  • Have access a pool of coaches looking for coaching opportunities
  • Outline your requirements for coaching opportunities in your organisation and have them matched against all registered coaches to find potential matches
  • Be able to use the system as an 'Affiliate Partner' to manage your existing coaches
  • Have access to local, county and regional coach and coaching data, to support funding bids, business planning etc
Who has access to my organisations' details


Access to your organisations' details will be restricted to Coaching Lancashire staff and the system administrators only.

Organisations' details will not be shared with any other organisation without your consent.

Generic information (e.g. types of people you are engaging with through coaching, coaching hours delivered or needed, types of coaches you are looking for; gaps in knowledge/qualifications held by your workforce) can be collated through the system and may be shared with key partners such as:

  • Sport England
  • National Governing Bodies of Sport

As mentioned above, this information is very useful in building up a picture of the current coaching workforce, and the gaps that exist in the NW and help organisations responsible with the development of coaching attract funding to develop more coaching development and deployment opportunities across the region.
